Viagra, Birth Control, and Limpness

In an effort to temporarily get away from the XX vs. XY jibber jabber, I’ve decided to shift to a much more pressing topic (Thanks Cup). A 2 sided topic that is pretty hard to talk about. Yes, I am referring to Viagra and birth control availability. More so, the fact that health insurance companies will approve and cover Viagra in medical plans, but will not do the same for birth control. In a recent interview, John McCain was asked about his stance on the topic after some comments were made by one of his biggest female supporters (The woman who used to head HP). Given that he is probably a huge advocate of Viagra and most likely not a huge advocate of “Pro Choice”, he quickly stiffened up before deciding that he wasn’t going to answer any questions about his affinity for Viagra or disdain for birth control and non-contractual loving (pre-marital pumps…and I ain’t talkin’ shoes or air). Its probably safe to say he wishes he could stiffen up that quickly in his love life. Age catches up with you John. You probably won’t see Barack on those commercials for a few years, given that his wife looks happy and vibrant on television. You know, kind of like the dude and his wife in those Enzyte male enhancement commercials that seem to have disappeared from television for a little while? Anyways John, try to stop being so rigid when you’re asked about one of your many medications. You’ve endorsed it before. Check out the video below to see him struggle.
I, along with 98% of men between the ages of 18 and 25 with full functionality, support the usage of birth control and believe it should be covered by health insurance companies. It’s a proactive and preventive treatment option for a condition that when contracted will last for 9 months and cost a hell of a lot of money and headaches going forward. Would the condom market soften up like rest of the economy? Probably not. Would the long straight line at Planned Parenthood go limp? Most likely. Will the number of men telling their female counterparts they don’t need to wear protection because she responsibly takes her BC increase? Definitely. Slim Jackson excluded of course, because I practice abstinence and not because I’m ugly.

I didn’t know health companies didn’t sponsor the use of Birth Control….that disturbs me. In Canada, you can get most BC services for free, they don’t play around. But most women are ignorant to that fact or just don’t bother because (as one of my girlfriends notes,) they don’t like being “drugged-up”. Whatever that means. But maybe if BC was more accessible in the US, Maury Povich wouldn’t be able to have AS MANY of his “You are the father” show topics, which may decrease his ratings, which decreases commercial spronsorship, then decrease profits and increases layoffs all leading to…a RECESSION. So maybe it makes sense not to support birth control.
On another topic Slim, do you dare to dwelve into politics? I would be very interested to hear what you have to say about the New Yorker cartoon with Obama and Michelle depicted as terrorists (and the unescapable CNN coverage of its impact). I just discussed it with my sister last night. Any comments?

Someone suggested to me last night that I tackle the New Yorker topic. I’ll probably write about it for tomorrow. I just don’t really have a stance on it yet. I need to see what the buzz is on the Internet before I write anything. Certainly a posting on such would be more inflammatory than humorous…
